Shoot: Petrita

Shoot: Petrita

Tried something a bit different on this shoot as I’ve been wanting to do more clothed outdoor stuff for a while. I had a concept and a location I know well. Found a beautiful model in Petrita, who was even willing to start at 8am on a Sunday morning. Did the shoot, processed the film and…remain unconvinced.

I wanted to do something exploring my regular favourite themes of isolation and loneliness. I decided to shoot around the City of London, early on a Sunday when the place is largely deserted. I had in my head empty, wide-open urban spaces and a recurring pose that was influenced by the sculptures of Anthony Gormley. I lugged around three cameras, a 6×7, 6×6 and 35mm and shot on both Tri-X and Porta. In the end, though, I’m not sure it works. I’ll leave it to you to decide.
